Norton Canes Community Library Volunteering

Volunteering opportunities at your local community library

Have you ever thought of helping out within your local community ?

Could you spare a few hours at any time ?

Norton Canes Community Library and information hub operates within the Staffordshire County Council Library Service,  it is however operated and run on a day to day basis by a dedicated team of local volunteers in partnership with Midland Partnership Foundation NHS Trust .

New volunteers are always welcome to assist us in keeping the library operating and open to the general public.  (Full training is provided) (All volunteers are required to undergo a full DBS check, which is provided free of charge)

With more volunteers we would be able to extend our opening hours to provide an even better service to our library members.

We welcome volunteers who could provide a few regular hours each week or on a rota system, and we also need volunteers who could provide a few hours to cover on an ad hoc basis or to fill in when other regular volunteers are perhaps ill or on holiday etc.

Even a little help around the outside of the library in keeping our gardens etc. looking tidy would be welcome.

The library provides both traditional and online book services to it's members, It also operates as a local community hub with regular meetings of various interest groups such as Parent & Toddler , Craft, History, League of Ladies etc.

Various activities for children are also provided at different times throughout the year.

The library also has an I.T. Suite with free internet access, photocopying and printing services are also available.

Various roles available Sound interesting ? Could you help ?  Want more information ? Please contact us via the contact button above.
