That’s our official title and its quite a mouthful! But it nowhere near covers what we do.

Let’s walk through the building. Entering through the automatic doors at the main entrance at the front of the building, you come into a small foyer where there are posters for local events and leaflets advertising local services. Need a bus timetable? There are usually some here. If not ask at the desk.

You then walk through the double doors into another small lobby. Don’t be afraid of the rubber plant. We’ve tied it to the wall so that it can’t attack you. On the left here are doors into the Wallace room, which is our large meeting room. During our opening times, this is occupied by various crafting and art groups or children’s activities. On the right is the Jreome room, a smaller more comfy meeting room, which is used by reading group, creative wring group and the open arms group. If its not being used by one of the groups feel free to sit quietly and read (or knit or whatever other quiet activity you fancy). Just past the Jerome Room on the right is our sensory room. This can be hired for a small fee in half hourly slots. Its to stimulate small babies or older children with special needs. Ask at he desk for a closer look.

Through another set of double doors and you’re intothe main library area – a large airy space full of books. The first section is our teen section with books aimed at young adults. There are also a number of graphic magazine publications. Further along those selves is our collection of audio books. Past that is our crime/thriller section and the our general fiction books. Ahainst he wall on the right is our non fiction section. Need some ideas for new recipes?, want to learn a new skill? How about reading a biography? At the far end of the room is our desk and on the right our children’s section where there is a wide range of material from picture books, through first readers up to pre-teen reading. Again, against the right-side wall is a non-fiction section. Does your child need help with homework?

On the left by the children’s section is our IT suite, where members can get free access to internet and printing facilities. There is also access to Ancestry.com if you want to try genealogy..

Past the children’s area are the doors outside to our patio. A pleasant are in the summer, where we grow tomatoes, strawberries and flowers. We, also, have a bigger garden area, which unfortunately is not accessible from the patio but only from the car park.
