Come Lend a Hand in the Library Garden!

Monday 14th April: (First day of the childrens Easter holiday from school)

Norton Canes Community Library Garden

10:30am to 2:30pm

All ages welcome, come as a family, (please note we do not offer childminding, very young children must be accompanied by adults)

We only have very limited parking and with children involved with activities in the garden area / car park area you may find the car park gates will be closed. So please if you do come by car, park in the free public car park at the rear of the local co-op, it's only a 2 -3 minute walk to the library

We’re giving our community garden a bit of a spring spruce-up – and we’d love your help!

Over the past year, with the assistance of a grant from the Postcode Lottery Local Trust we have been able to enhance our outside front, rear and patio areas and continued to change the previously overgrown rear area into a loveley community garden for use by all.

The garden is certainly looking good at the moment with the spring daffodils showing and bluebells not yet flowered but on the way, who would have believed that not so long ago this was a totally overgrown wilderness

So continuing to move forward come along and join us for a day of gardening, building and getting stuck in as we continue to transform the rear garden and prepare the space for a brand new food-growing project. funded by top cashback sustainability fund to promote healthy living and to teach / promote the growing of your own food.

On the day, we’ll be:

Building a new raised planting bed

Planting and tidying the garden

Enjoying a cuppa and a slice of cake

Whether you’re green-fingered or just fancy mucking in, everyone’s welcome – pop down for half an hour or stay the whole day.

No experience needed – just enthusiasm!

We hope to see you there!
